Did you make off with a nice stash of Club Carlson points during the summer promos? There will soon be more redemption options, with the opening of two new Radisson Blu properties in the Maldives! The Radisson Blu Hotel Maldives Hulhumale will open November 2013, while the Radisson Plaza Resort Maldives Naagoshi is slated for December 2013.
So far the best redemption options have been in Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean (basically anywhere but the US). I’m willing to bet these new properties will top them all.
I earned over 500,000 points from the summer promotions and initially planned on unloading them at the Radisson Blu Istanbul Bosphorous some time this year. I had also planned on heading to the Park Hyatt Maldives in December. With these properties scheduled to open by then, this presents a great way to spend those points and try out a brand new hotel.
There isn’t a whole lot of info available, but based on this piece, the Naagoshi property will feature 182 land villas, 99 over-water bungalows and all the amenities of a luxury resort: Several on-site restaurants, spa, gym, pool, water sports center, and “butler stations.” It will also be family-friendly, offering a separate pool for children, playground, game room, playground, and more.
I’m sure the over-water bungalows will go over the 50,000 points/night top redemption level. We’ll learn more once we get closer to the open dates.
If you didn’t join in on the promotion frenzy over the summer, you can still bulk up on points with the Club Carlson credit cards. And let’s keep our fingers crossed for another round of summer promos!
