Club Carlson is the rewards program for Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn, and Country Inn & Suites. Many of us took advantage of the great Club Carlson summer promos, offering 44,000-50,000 per stay. With the new lineup of Club Carlson credit cards, there are even more earning opportunities and many are wondering what the best point redemptions are.

The no-brainer is to look at their top Category 6 properties. But are there any lower category properties in the Carlson portfolio that are worth redeeming points for? I combed through hundreds of properties to find the best hotels in each category and region. Honors for the top spot are based on location, reviews from various sites, condition of the hotel, and amenities.
At times it was no easy feat trying to pick a “top” property out of a sea of backwater airport hotels with pictures of cockroaches and dirty bathtubs accompanying scathing reviews. I also came across at least half a dozen properties that are no longer affiliated with the program, yet continue to be featured on the site. Still, there are a few gems throughout the six categories, which I will cover in a series of upcoming posts.
