IHG Rewards Club announced their Accelerate bonus point promotion and as usual, it consists of a variety of challenges you have to meet in order to earn the bonus. I actually like this set-up and wish other brands would get creative like this. Anyway, the promotion is personalized so not all members will receive the same offer. At 52,200 points mine is pretty generous, considering I’m not even an elite member in the program anymore:
At a minimum, I can generate 41,800 IHG points during this promotion by completing three stays at three different brands and applying for the IHG Rewards Club Select credit card. I’ve been meaning to pick this card up for a while. This is as good of an incentive as any to finally get around to it.
If you’re not currently an IHG Rewards Club member, they’re offering you an even greater incentive to join. New members who enroll in the promotion and complete two stays at two different IHG brands will receive two free nights at any IHG hotel worldwide! Combine these two nights with the sign-up bonus from the IHG Rewards Club MasterCard and the bonus points from the promotion and you can easily piece together at least four nights at any IHG hotel worldwide! Members who are targeted for a better offer than mine will have even more free nights to look forward to.
The IHG Rewards Club Accelerate promotion is valid on stays between September 1 – December 31, 2015. If you’re looking to participate in this promotion through mattress running, be sure to look for Category 1 IHG properties, which tend to have lower paid rates. Some of the cheapest hotel markets in the country include Orlando (FL), Dallas (TX), and Norfolk (VA). Be sure to check out low-category hotels in those regions for the lowest paid rates.
