In my previous post, I talked about the ultimate criteria for maximizing frequent flyer mile acquisition. A Good credit score, no existing credit card debt and good organizational skills being the keys to success.
But less face it. not everybody has a good credit score. It could be because of past misuse, no previous credit or lousy life circumstances like a medical collection. And some just can’t be bothered with keeping track of finances.
CashBack apps for debit or credit cards
I’m in the grocery store at least 3 times for week for a credit card manufactured spending play that pays real well. I’ve recently come across three CashBack apps that also pay awards on your bank debit cards if you are not a credit card user by choice, or working on getting to that point.
Dosh, Drop, and Pei
You are all probably familiar with online shopping portals and websites like Swagbucks, Rakuten, etc. The three apps listed above allow you to download the app to your phone and link your debit and or credit cards to your account. When you shop at a participating store and pay with your “stored card”, your account will be credited with CASH!!
The encryption technology for all three sites is first-rate and once you have loaded your cards, there is no need to download and forward receipts like many other cashback apps.
PEI will actually pay you in Bitcoin if you’d like.
DROP asks you to pick your five most shopped at stores to earn both in-store and online ( I picked Dunkin Donuts, Whole Foods, Walgreens. Target and 7 Eleven)
DOSH seems to list retailers of national scale and local Mom and Pops as well.
All three offer multitudes of retailers that they automatically partner within your app. This is a “one and done experience” and you can cash out at reasonable levels with PayPal for DOSH, gift cards for DROP and PayPal gift card or Bitcoin with PEI.
Even if you don’t earn credit card rewards
Don’t leave money on the table by neglecting to use these three apps. The earnings percentages are comparable in some cases to online shopping portals and remember this is One and Done.
And by the way…..
If you are using a rewards-earning credit card, these apps provide earnings that are in addition to your credit card rewards. The only thing better than earning miles or points is Double Dipping earning cash back on the same transactions. This is a great starting point for those with limited or no credit.
My next post will talk about how my earnings break down year to date. I was really surprised by the product mix.
