Rewards Credit Card Wallet for Points and Miles

Two lucrative credit card sign-up opportunities

We, by “we” I mean family members of mine, just scored on a Barclay AAdvantage Aviator Red Card with no first-year fee and only one purchase required. I could not participate as I’ve overloaded on Barclays cards. But my son scored the 60,000-mile bonus and another close friend of ours won as well.

It is an “inflight offer” that seems to be good with the correct code and link.

And the applicable code is 356467.

The landing page indicates that the offer is good until 10/31/19.

Neither of my successful applicants has actually received their miles yet but, its only one inquiry, right?

Avianca LifeMiles credit card

The other card Katy and I took advantage of is the Avianca credit card with double the normal sign up bonus. By adding the promo code SB4060 to your application you’ll double the standard offer to 40,000 miles. Or 60,000 miles, depending on which card you apply for.

Easy $1,000 minimum spend on each of these cards from Banco Popular and the corresponding annual fees are $59 for the 40,000-mile offer (Vida) or $149 for the 60,000 Vuela card.

I got the smaller offer this time, as I had the bigger one earlier and Katy got the big one as it is her first Banco Popular card. We are giving these miles to a friend of ours that travels home to Moldova. Avianca is a StarAlliance partner and she can fly all the way home using LOT or Austrian Star Alliance partners.

We give up the miles to her and she pays the annual fee, in addition to applying for a card herself. 60,000 miles is a round-trip coach ticket home and greatly appreciated and we are glad to do it.

I have not spent much time with Star Alliance these days. But it may be worth you taking a look at the award chart of Avianca. I mean, come on: 40,000 miles for $49 and $1,000 minimum spend sounds like a winner to me???

  1. DOC posted on the Avianca one on 8/27. I took advantage already.
Will try the Barclay one, although they have not liked me for awhile. It’s been a few months though so I’ll give it a shot.
    Thanks.

    1. Just completed on-line Barclaycard application and instantly denied. I’ll do the obligatory follow up recon call but I have little hope. They never budge with me.

      1. Kirk, Those guys at Barclays are funny about that application stuff aren’t they? I also did the Avianca one early and my points have already posted to my account. Thanks for the DP

        1. Rick, I think there are rules for Barclay that I haven’t memorized and am too lazy to look up. I likely violate them.
Other than the well known Chase, Citi, and Amex rules, I just don’t follow.
Probably could avoid hard pulls if I were more inclined to research.

    1. “Applicants who have previously applied for any AAdvantage® Aviator® Red Mastercard® are not eligible for this offer. This bonus can only be earned once regardless of the number of applications submitted.”

      Guess I won’t.

        1. My 60,000 AA miles posted today. Thanks Rick.
I’ve had the card previously, so the above comment had me concerned.
All is well. Got one for Mama too. Jim
