It’s time for a blog revamp

I started this blog in September 2012, with a simple WordPress theme spruced up slightly with a banner designed by a cartoon artist on Fiverr. About seven months ago, I decided to make a career change. While I still don’t want to blog for a living, I enjoy doing it as a hobby now that it’s not my full-time job and I’d like the site to at least look pretty while it sits without content for weeks at a time.

It’s time to make a change, starting with the theme. Everything from the layout to the font and even that banner is starting to annoy me. I’m a visual person and have stopped reading blogs that were unpleasant to look at. So I’m grateful that you guys keep coming back to read my posts despite the blog’s current state.

For some time now I’ve been searching for a new theme. Something simple, clean, and visually appealing. I’m pretty happy with what I decided on, so I will be spending the weekend updating the blog with the new theme and making some necessary adjustments. I’m going to do something about that banner eventually, but I can’t really think of an alternative so it will stay up for now. Anyway, the site will be down on Sunday while the changes are being made. Everything should be back up and running by Monday. When the blog comes back, I’d love to get your feedback and any suggestions for improvement. Please share your thoughts in the comment section of this post.

  1. Please, please, please, what ever you do, please use BLACK font on a white page. Not gray, not blue, not green, BLACK. Thank you.

  2. I’ve been working on a travel blog for a while but the only thing holding me back is the banner. I had no idea you could pay someone out there to create the banner for you. Thanks!
