Bumped app get stock for shopping

Bumped takes the ultimate step in customer loyalty

We hobbyists are so accustomed to loyalty programs, many of us choose our airlines, hotel chain and credit card provider based on the loyalty program that treats us best. It’s become a way of life and truly forms habits in our purchases. Bumped.com and the Bumped app take it one step further than I have experienced before. Through the Bumped app, your loyalty rewards come in the form of stock in the businesses you support.

Bumped app get stock for shopping

For example, I shop at Krogers because of their fuel rewards and participation in the Dosh cashback program. Just suppose Kroger offered me stock as my loyalty reward? Through Bumped, that is exactly what happens. Now that’s a Triple Dip if I’ve ever seen one. Fuel rewards, cashback and stock. Reports indicate the triple dip works.

Several weeks ago I wrote a post about iConsumer that offered stock in their startup for using their site. The response was terrific and many of you signed up through my referral link. I got a few shares of stock if you spent $150 or more on the site.

You got stock in the company as a new member with a $25 purchase.  And you will continue to earn stock as long as you use that shopping portal for your online purchases. You are betting on the success of the startup with iConsumer. I’m betting right along with you. I bought gift cards from giftcards.com to meet my spending requirement. Thanks for using my referral link.

Bumped

Bumped is in beta testing and there is a waiting list to be invited. I’m on that list. When this is in full operation and you own stock in, say Home Depot, will you ever shop at Lowe’s? That’s the premise of the app and it appears there will only be one store in any category that will be a Bumped partner.

That concept could have a real sway on your shopping behavior, which is exactly why the retailer is giving you stock in their company. Will it be Walgreens, or CVS? McDonalds or Burger King? The partners change and access is not readily available to those on the outside. I know Kroger has, or is participating at present.

From what I understand, it takes several months to get invited to participate at this point. And using my referral link will push me up the waiting list so I can supply you with more information once I’m in. Feel free to use my link when signing up and thanks for that as well. I receive no compensation for you using my link other than earlier access to the program.

People suggest at times that the game is dying. I strongly disagree The game is evolving in positive ways I never would have imagined 15 years ago. Imagine this:

If you buy a ticket on American Airlines, they give you a fractional share of stock in AAL? And maybe a few frequent flyer miles to boot!

That sounds like enhancements to me.

  1. I’ve been using the Bumped app for about 8 months. While it’s true that I have adapted my spending to my loyalty selections – i.e. Home Depot instead of Lowes, it’s important to note that Home Depot is the only loyalty selection available in the home improvement category. Luckily, I prefer HD to Lowes.

There are some multiple choice categories like Pizza that include Pizza Hut (2%), Domino’s (1%) and Papa Johns (@5%!). You can’t select them all, and you can only change the selection 3 times per year.

I agree that the best category by far is Kroger, if you purchase a lot of CG’s it makes for some decent shares with your fuel points.

  2. Thanks for the comment Kevin. For those of us near a Kroger’s or chain in the Kroger family, this will be huge. For those of you lucky enough to already in, what others stores offer great opportunities?

  3. Not as HUGE as you think….”Large” purchases will be flagged and they will request a copy of the receipt (terms exclude GC purchases). This is not a MS’ers paradise but only good for micro transactions.

    1. I guess when Beta is done I guess we’ll really know. When I go to Kroger on fuel rewards 4x days I buy a few groceries, 2-$100 Amazon gift cards at no cost for 80 cents off per gallon of gas, $10 in Dosh cash, 3x on my Navy Fed card and I’ll gladly add 1/4 share of Kroger stock trading at about $29 per share. With some groceries mixed in I’m not so sure an oddball number grocery bill in the $200+ range is going to be seen as a “Large” purchase?

Pigs get fat and Hogs get slaughtered??

I’m on the waitlist. Come join me and let’s see together how this works out. Please consider using my referral link so we both find out sooner rather than later

      1. At some places, anything above $200 is flagged. In the “good old days”, you could use your debit card at WM with not real limit. They quickly stopped that .

      2. I’m already in and been using it for about 2-3 months now. Anytime I’ve spent over $100 or so they request the receipt but hey if you say so. As we always say… Your YMMV ; ) Cheers!

          1. 150ish yes. Remember this is stock they’re distributing here so they seem pretty territorial on what spend counts and what does not.

    1. As I said, I have no financial interest in Bumped app or referrals. Stay in the sidelines Ron, if that’s where you’re comfortable

    1. I agree Jack 2. If you gave me a tip that may work out for me, at no cost to me, I’ll be all over it. Some people I think, just like to be Negative Nellies
